Looking for inspirational ideas when renovating your home can be challenging, but there are online resources that take the pain and guesswork out of it.
Whether your remodeling your kitchen, bedroom, or bathroom, there’s much to take into consideration. You don’t want to be limited by your imagination when there’s much to learn from others on the subject.
Rather than searching from blog to blog, there are two great resources that offer inspiration that will show you options and ways to organize the project.
If you haven’t already found this great tool, take a look at it. It’s a free account that can be set up in under a minute. While it’s not limited to home design, it’s one of the best online resources of home design inspiration out there. You can “pin” images and organize them into categories of your own. They can be organized any way you wish – by room such as bathroom or by elements of a room like bathroom fixtures. One of the most useful features is that Pinterest lets you search other user’s collections and gain inspiration from them.
Houzz
Another great resource which focuses on home design is houzz.com. Houzz, in their own words, is a “platform for home remodeling and design, bringing homeowners and home professionals together in a uniquely visual community.”
Like Pinterest, you can create idea books – sharing them and collaborating with others. You can make notes on each photo noting what you do or don’t like about the image. Houzz also connects you with professionals who can help to bring your dreams to a reality.
The dreaming phase of a renovation project is fun and you pretty much have free reign to design as you like. However, the final project will likely include compromises because of existing systems, building design and conditions, and your budget. Keeping this in mind will make for a much easier and more satisfying project.
