Design trends come and go, and what home buyers are looking for changes as quickly as these trends do. There are a few constants, though, and tried and true buyers will be looking at these areas when shopping for homes.
In selling homes in the Sun City Center area, I’ve found that attention to these five areas quite often results in faster offers without price adjustments.
What Are Sun City Center Home Buyers Looking For
Take a look at your kitchen and bathrooms. The quickest way to modernize these two rooms in your buyer’s eyes is to upgrade the lighting, countertops, cabinets, and fixtures. It doesn’t always need to be expensive upgrades – even a coat of paint or new faucet.
Lighting does matter. If a room is poorly lit, your buyer’s will notice. In fact, it can bring down their mood making them less likely to consider purchasing your home. Pay attention to your lamps too … if they’re outdated, it will detract from the great qualities your home has to offer.
Wall surfaces. Are you looking at old wallpaper, dingy walls, or outdated color choices? All of these can make an otherwise attractive room look outdated. Most wallpaper isn’t worth keeping, but fresh, neutral, brightly painted walls are always a plus.
Keep it clean. Okay, I know I’m stating the obvious when I say to clean your home. You might be surprised, at how many sellers sincerely can’t see past their home’s grime. They’re grown accustomed to clutter. The quickest way to lose buyers is to show the home with dirty floor and counters. Trust me, this may be one of the best tips I can offer; have your home professionally cleaned. Believe me; it makes a world of difference.
You can’t go wrong with these four areas. Are you curious, though, about current trends? Contact me, and I’d be happy to let you know what today’s buyers are looking for.
